Applecross is by Sir Prancealot, who is the sire of Beau Recall, and countless other talented fillies who have come over from England to have success in the US. She made her debut on May 24th, and ended up winning as the third choice. The horse that ran 2nd, had run well previously in a strong maiden race. She settled nicely, and it looked like further distance will only help her. She ran an 88 timeform rating, which equates to a mid 70’s beyer, which would be a very strong figure for an early season two-year-old.
The plan is to run her in the G2 Queen Mary at Royal Ascot on Wednesday, June 19th. This is one of the premier race meets in the world.
In my opinion she projects very well for California. There are a couple of Breeders’ Cup preps at both Del Mar and Santa Anita, that would fit her perfectly. Here is a Video of her debut performance, which earned the strong Timeform rating.
