Featured   ••   Sassy Sienna

Sassy Sienna ran a strong 6th place finish in the Kentucky Oaks.

We drew the inside post, which forced Gary to be forwardly placed.  She broke well, and was slightly ahead of the field early.  She looked like she might settle into 3rd or 4th, but Gary gave her the best chance by holding his position on the rail, which put her into 2nd.  She traveled well, and even took the lead briefly heading into the far turn.  As they entered the stretch she was in 2nd, and couldn’t quicken with a few of the closers.  She tried hard all the way to the wire, she is an honest filly who gives it her best every time.

She came out of the race in good shape, and we are going to give her a little time before picking out her next start.  After talking with Brad, he thinks we could keep her at Churchill and point to a couple of races in the Midwest, either in Iowa or Indiana.  There are a couple of G3’s with $200,000 purses that we could target.  There will also be some graded stakes races on the grass that we could try to run in.  They have always thought she might be better on the grass, but she was good enough on the dirt to try the Oaks trail, which obviously worked.

We will keep everyone posted on what is next for Sassy Sienna as we get a little closer to her next start.

As a lifelong horseplayer and passion for racing, I came to a point in my life where I wanted stake in a partnership that could offer ownership at the highest level of Thoroughbred racing. Medallion Racing fit my risk tolerance with a solid business plan that detailed their mission, full transparency, weekly communication of all horses involved, and delivered on exactly what their goal was to their investors... Graded stakes winners and thrills I never imagined I would experience in my lifetime.

Mark S., Investor

Since becoming an investor in Medallion Racing I have been overwhelmed with the excitement of being part of Thoroughbred racing at the highest level. What I have appreciated even more is how well the communication is between myself, the investor, and the managers of Medallion and also all the knowledge I have gained in the racing industry.

Chris J., Midland, TX

I became an investor in Medallion Racing in 2015, nothing matches the joy and excitement I receive from being part of top class racehorses such as CATHRYN SOPHIA and CALIFORNIA CHROME.

George S., Thoroughbred owner for over 18 years

My family’s love for the Thoroughbred dates back to the 30s when my grandfather was a top owner/breeder/trainer. Medallion allows me to continue this important family tradition while also participating as an owner at the highest levels of the sport. I fully expect Medallion to evolve into one of the top performing racing partnerships in the world. I want to be a part of this.
